Hey all!!! This was a fantastic and I mean a FANTASTIC episode.... I love both of the "Yesterday" tracks from Jake and Elisha.... Same song but yet so different... It's great to hear how differently they sang the song, that's one of the best things about singing IMO. and Mollie nailed the Whitney thing, not saying you didn't nail The Beatles, cause I haven't heard that song before.... Ok so now in my defense LOL I would like to comment to the judges.... Why Don't We Do It The Road Dean: PERVERT!!!! LOL JK! I guess you can use your imagination how ever you wish, but "doing it" could be several different things... but I think you interpreted it the way it was meant to be. ;-) The song may not have 100 different words in it but it did have a meaning... especially coming from that "free love" era. I also try to take anything you say into a positive fashion... for example you didn't say my timing was off. LOL That's a plus in my book!! and you said vocally I did a good job! Thanks! Charly: I knew that comment was gonna come from somewhere "cause the road is...." just didn't know what was gonna come after it! LOL I love your zany comments.... Yeah, I could have chosen a more vocally challenging song but I will tell you why I didn't in my "in general" comments. The song was lyrically repetitive but not vocally repetitive. I might get eliminated but I have no regrets cause I do my best to stay true to myself and sing songs that I can have fun with and mostly that have that bluesy soulful sound. Steven: You seem to get where I was coming from with this song... I think... hopefully you just weren't feeling sorry for me from the other comments that I got from Charly and Dean! LOL So Thanks for interpreting it just the right way! In General: You all say we should take risk.... and personally for me The Beatles was a risk from the beginning.... I am not a big Beatles singer. So IMO this song was 1- lyrically risky. 2- vocally risky a bit for me personally cause going low isn't one of my strongest points like "in the road" is a low point in the song. Also anyone that really knows me personally and heard the song.... it wouldn't surprise them a bit cause I am a crazy zany kinda person... So it also conveys a bit of my personality (not saying I do it in the road). I just like doing songs that you don't hear everyday, songs that people don't know by heart (although this one wouldn't be hard heheheh) so they can embrace what I AM singing and not compare it to the original cause as I said before about Elisha and Jake that is the best part about singing.. singing it your way....if you get what I mean and I think I prove that with many of my song selections... At Last (I don't have as much to say about this one) Dean: You are probably right about the perfection.... but once again no timing comments WOOP! WOOP! I am on a roll.. maybe..... LOL and here is why I have used At Last a lot ok ok.... ALOT at the time I sent in my audition.. which was a ways back I was entering in all the contests and that was just an easier way to do it since they all wanted acapella tracks and I already had it.. so I might have overdone it just a tad by using it over and over... LOL but I do love the song it's a classic! Charly: Thanks for your comments! Steven: Thanks for the comments! In General: I feel how the song was cut up, it took away from my performance of the song alot.... but that is my fault! I was the idiot that forgot to clip it and sent it ASAP LOL and when I mentioned it to Steven I didn't really specify how I wanted the song clipped and left it up to him pretty much. Ol' Time Rock & Roll was cut in one spot I noticed but didn't have nearly the effect on that song as it did on At Last I think I noticed 3 or 4 spots where it was chopped and went to a different part of the song. Which I am not saying that if it wasn't chopped up any of you would feel any differently about it. I think Steven how ever did do a wonderful job getting the beginning and the ending in there but I would have been more pleased with just a straight through run.... but once again I realize that was my fault for not specifying. I think that about sums it up for me at the moment.. yep ok bye yall'

Well I did forget one thing I wanted to mention.... about At Last I won judge's choice in October 2005 with that very same track I used this week at hear my music (which is no longer up and running) I just wanted to mention that only because it proves what I always say to be that much truer and to let the past contestants and the present contestants know (although it is a no brainer) Some people will love it and others won't. So just never give up on your passion for singing and sing what feels good to you!

Hey Erica - I apologize, after I watched the show I thought - you know I really should have commended her because her timing problem was fixed this week! Good job! I wasn't being hard on you really. I'll confess I'm not a Beatles fan AT ALL - I love "Yesterday" but I've never been able to warm up to their other music and honestly I've never understood the hype.. however - as a songwriter I come from a personal taste of wanting songs to be lyrically meaningful and emotionally charged - sure there are fun fluff songs too - tongue and cheek is great but I don't feel that the song you chose is a well written song so I wouldn't have chosen it. One can be funny and tongue and cheek and still write a good song but I don't feel the Beatles (or whichever one of them wrote this tracl) did a bang up job on this one. It was more criticizing the song, not you. I think your vocals were good on the track but I would have chosen something else. It was a risk though, I agree with you. And I love the song "At Last" - I was just pointing out that it must be a favorite of yours is all No disrespect to you was intended. I think you're great!

No disrespect to you all and no disrespect taken as well... I don't know why I always feel the urge to say something in response to the judges sorry I used the words "in my defense" cause that did make it sound like I took it defensive I should of said "my response to the judges or something..." I think John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote that song not sure... and I myself am not a huge fan or nothing but have respect for em even if they were undoubtly taking something when they wrote the song.... LMBO It was fun and thats also part of the contest.... Oh and I was just as glad to hear you say nothing about the timing than if you would have told me great job on the time sometimes the things left unsaid are the best LOL ok I guess I need to shut up you know me talk talk talk so bye 4 now LOL

I just stopped by to watch the show and I must say Steven u did great. Along with rest of the show's cast and contestants.....It was one entertaining show. Erica...I wasn't too crazy over the song choice for the Beatles but your vocals are so awesome. I love your bluesy feel but I think the song choices I sent you would of fit you more. I dont know you as much as your family or close friends but when I found those songs I knew they had you written all over them. Overall your timing was much much better and you sang from your heart which is most important. Staying true to yourself is important but keep in mind song choice is huge...thats why I left in the top 15. I did that song "Fever" which is a classic aside from being sick during the recording its in a "lower" key, and doesn't completely show off all of my talent vocally. So regardless, I feel your argument and if I wasn't sick I'm sure I would chosen differently. Oh and u did so great singing "At Last" I always love when you sing it and honestly I remember you winning on "hearmymusic" cuz I was a judge's wildcard and won people's choice too one month. I heard u there for the first time actually. I knew right then you were one tough competitor. lol...and still are IE...Extreme Pop Idol for one....haha...hello like you were in the top top 2!! Hellaya!! Boy u rocked that show... Lastly, you gf are so much like me! I always feel the need on Triple III to talk to the judges too. lol..so theres nothing wrong with that. We not only appreciate they're knowledge and advice but we sometimes need to tell them why we chose certain songs and so on. So keep that zaniness (sp?) and never change. K. xxxxxxxx Elisha: U know I love your songs a lot. If I were to choose between the two songs you did I would say my favorite was "Yesterday" hands down. Your voice is just so beautiful, technically flawless, and well controlled. I felt "Yesterday" was just more emotionally charged, perfect technically, and you really made it your own. It had an "Elisha twist" on it which made it soooooooooooo cool. I have known you from SS a long time back before I ever judged you on EPI and sang with you in "The Voice" Needless to say..I have always looked forward to your songs on SS week to week.....and still do. So Keep doin your thing girl! Mollie: Very nice vocals too. I loved your voice but I just didn't find originality in it compared to Elisha and Erica. Elisha changed up her song to fit her and Erica made hers more bluesy but yours..I just couldn't find what it is that sets you apart from the rest. However, you are one great singer technically. Your second song was my favorite out of the two songs. I don't know if it was the clip and where the song was shown but I didnt feel your talent was showcased well enough in the first one. But holy cow your second one was just awesome. I would give it two thumbs up. lol...Your really rocked it. Jakey: I guess all I can say is I am still learning your voice. Its quite soulful and really really different. So you definitely win with originality category not so much with song choice or what you do with the song but your actual voice itself. It makes me think actually. Its almost like I wouldn't expect your voice to come out of you and it throws me off everytime. I think you have some serious runs but some parts to your second song were a little pitchy. I prefer your first song over "When Doves Cry". I just didn't feel that song showed off the best features of your voice. Overall you did well too. Lastly, It was a fun time to sing with all of you prior and its even more fun to watch you guys fight for the title. So good luck and may the best woman or man win. Oh and when this is over come audition for my show (shameless plug). lol... www.freewebs.com/webvocalistoftheyearOk folks...Peace out!

Just wanted to express my thanks for everyone's wonderful comments and continuing support for this competition. I've really had a great time doing it and have felt grateful to get this far and be among such kind and talented people. I really enjoyed everyone's songs this week, and I think it will be particularly hard to choose Can't we all just win?? lol My hat's off to my fellow singers for jobs well done and the judges and fans who continue to make this a success. Best of luck to everyone!!
